Health Checks

Our health departments provide head to toe assessments of children. These assessments are referred to as “child health checks.” The exams help to ensure that children are growing and developing at appropriate levels. The exams also help identify potential physical or developmental problems.

Child health checks are preventive in nature and are performed on children of all ages. The checks include (but are not limited to):

  • Comprehensive health and developmental history
  • Physical exam
  • Vision and hearing screening
  • Immunizations
  • Nutritional assessment
  • Age appropriate developmental, psychosocial, and school performance assessment
  • Blood pressure checks

Health checks are available at all South Health District health departments. Click here to find your nearest health department.
