WIC Invites Families to No Cost Breastfeeding Support Groups

Sessions Scheduled at Tifton, Valdosta, Ben Hill Health Departments

VALDOSTA – South Health District Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) invites pregnant and breastfeeding families to attend no cost drop-in Breastfeeding Support Group meetings in Tifton and Valdosta this August.

The support groups provide a welcoming space for families to receive breastfeeding guidance from WIC Lactation Counselors and Breastfeeding Peer Counselors, connect with other parents, and learn about resources available through the Georgia Department of Public Health.

Each meeting will include refreshments, information from other public health programs, and a gift basket raffle.

The meetings will be held at each county’s health department:

Tifton: Thursday, August 6, at 10:30 a.m. in the WIC Conference Room

Valdosta: Friday, August 7, at 10:30 a.m. in the 1st Floor Conference Room

Fitzgerald: Thursday, August 20, at 10:30 a.m. in the Conference Room

The events are offered at no cost, and no registration is required. Participants are encouraged to drop in, connect with WIC staff, receive breastfeeding support, and learn about other public health resources available to them.
