Georgia WIC Update

At this time, we anticipate Georgia WIC to be open and operational during the federal government shutdown.

• We anticipate WIC clinics to remain open to provide food benefits, provide nutrition education, breastfeeding support, and referrals.

• WIC benefits are not affected, at this time. However, a break in WIC benefits could occur due to a prolonged federal government shutdown. DPH is evaluating options to extend these benefits as long as possible.

• At this time, eWIC cards work at all authorized stores.

• Appointments are not canceled — please attend as scheduled.

• No food shortages or restrictions related to the federal government shutdown are in place at this time.

• We will provide updates as new details become available.
