Health Department Partners with Red Owl Coffee Company for Flu Vaccination Event
NASHVILLE – The Berrien County Health Department is brewing up a creative way to help residents stay healthy this flu season. Join them for “Shotays and Lattes,” a drive-thru flu shot clinic in partnership with Red Owl Coffee Company, on Monday, November 3, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The event will be held at the Berrien County Health Department, located at 600A South Jefferson Street in Nashville. Anyone who gets their flu shot during the drive-thru event will receive a 10% off coupon for Red Owl Coffee Company, while supplies last.
“We’re excited to partner with a local favorite like Red Owl Coffee Company to make getting your flu shot a little more fun,” said Dawn Bowen, BSN, RN, Berrien County Nurse Manager. “Protecting yourself from the flu doesn’t have to be a headache. It can be as easy as driving through for your shot and then enjoying a cup of coffee afterwards.
The drive-thru flu clinic will be open to anyone 18 years and older and offers a convenient way to protect yourself and your community. Both regular flu shots (for all ages) and high-dose vaccines (for adults 65 and older) will be available.
Participants will be asked to complete a short form to gather their information and are reminded to bring their insurance card. Insurance will be billed for those with accepted providers, and costs may vary depending on coverage. Self-pay options are available for those without insurance: $46.93 for the regular flu vaccine and $121.92 for the high-dose vaccine.
Flu season in the U.S. typically peaks between December and February, so health officials encourage everyone to get vaccinated early. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends annual flu vaccination for everyone 6 months and older, especially those at higher risk of complications such as young children, pregnant women, older adults, and individuals with chronic health conditions.
Don’t wait until flu season is in full swing. Grab your coffee and your flu shot and stay healthy all season long!
